LRF SUMMER CAMP
The long-term vision of the foundation is to establish an affordable and accessible summer program specifically designed for children with DS and similar disabilities. We envision a camp surrounded by the beauty of nature, and the joy of animals. Our camp will emphasize hands on interaction, educational opportunities, parental support, community involvement, and basically the wonder and excitement of being young. We continue to be successful in raising the capital required for this project.
READING FUND
The purpose of the Reading Fund is to improve the reading ability of children with DS by providing 1:1 reading assistance with a certified Special Education teacher. Stressing parental involvement, the program aims to give parents the framework for a personalized reading plan for their child so that literacy continues to be pursued as an attainable goal once tutoring has ended. The program sponsors eligible children age 7-14 in Broward County. The Foundation covers the cost of tutors and materials.

SUNDAY SPORTS
This challenged sports program was created in North Broward County in order to give children with developmental disabilities the opportunity to participate in team sports. This free program is open to children age 7-12 and includes baseball, kickball, and basketball in eight-week increments. The program begins the first week of October and ends mid-May. All games are played on Sunday afternoons, and each sport ends with a fun day that includes trophy presentation and volunteer recognition.

SOCIAL EVENTS
The Lindsey Rae Foundation is always on the lookout for unique opportunities in our community for children with developmental disabilities. The purpose of our various social events is to expose the children to experiences outside of what is normally available to them. These events have and will include camp-outs, dances, ocean fishing, and a hands on musical interaction night.
